I learned HTML in the beginning of my freshman year to keep up with my friends; I did not want to get left behind. What was originally something that I just did to fit in, has now become my passion.
Moving on from there, I quickly learned php, and then the powerful framework Laravel. However, as the industry has continued to evolve, so have I. I have begun to learn frontend js frameworks such as angular and begun to work with Google's Polymer Project
